The player receives one or more "Cards" with a number of boxes showing empty and a number of boxes with numbers in. in a standard game the first bingo column has numbers one to nine, the second ten to nineteen, and so on until the last column which contains the numbers eighty to ninety. In real life the games are run by the "Caller" who then |
calls out the numbers of the balls selected by the machine and also checks any winning tickets to be sure of fair play. Note - in many bingo halls now the bingo caller has been replaced by a computer that calls out the numbers - much like online bingo! To win, you need to mark off the numbers as they are called and get a "Line" - all numbers in a horizontal line called. "Two Lines" - as above. The best you can possibly get is a "Full House" where you have marked all the numbers on your bingo card and then you have won the top prize. The largest prize I've known in the UK was £1.1 million pounds - so there's a lot of money to be won! |
